Cheapest Gold Sovereigns in the UK

Every Sovereign we track, ranked by the total you actually pay including delivery and any payment surcharge we could verify — not by the advertised price.

Mixed-year Sovereigns are almost always the cheapest way to buy Sovereign gold. They contain exactly the same 7.32 g of fine gold as a current-year coin; you are simply not paying a premium for a specific date.

What to check before buying a Sovereign

Compare the price per fine gram rather than the headline price. A half Sovereign looks cheaper than a full one but costs considerably more per gram of gold.

Check the quantity. Delivery is charged once per order, so buying two coins is rarely twice the cost of buying one — and several dealers apply a lower unit price at five or more.

Check when the price was last confirmed. Any offer we could not re-check recently is excluded from the ranking and shown separately with its age.
